A Message From The Pastor

March 22, 2020

Announcement: April 4, 2020:

We are constantly adapting and adjusting amid the continuing spread of COVID-19.  We must consider the health and safety of our church family in every decision we make at this time.  We do believe the Lord is glorified by His people when exercising good judgment.

DRIVE-IN SERVICES:

Sundays at 10:00 A.M.  You will be able to drive up and sit in your car for the sermon.  Bring your Bible and prepare your heart to receive a message from the Lord.  Tune your car radio to 88.5 FM. Sit back and praise the Lord with us.

Please Follow The Rules:

The governor of Louisiana clarified some guidelines for drive-in services this past week and we ask that you adhere to those guidelines for your safety as well as the safety of others who may attend.

  • We ask that you remain inside your car the entire time in order to adhere to social distancing and shelter at home guidelines.
  • Windows must remain raised and doors closed.
  • Please do not enter any of the buildings on site.
  • You can absolutely wave to your friends from the safety of your vehicle. Send them a hug with sign language!

Giving:

We will have a place for you to give an offering from your vehicle upon arrival or as you leave.  You will also be able to mail your offering as well. You can get the appropriate mailing address under the “GIVING” tab at the top of this page.

If you would like to ask for prayer for yourself or for another, please click “CONTACT US” at the top of this page.  We cannot publish our prayer list on the web without the permission of all names on the list.  If you would like a copy of the prayer list, please also use the contact us form and we will get a copy to you.

Additional Online Outreach:

In an effort to continue to share the Word, we are providing videos and audio recordings for our church family and any others who would like to listen or watch.  These are posted here under the “SERMONS” tab at the top of the page as well as on Sermon Audio (A link is also available under sermons).

Join us online on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 for our Bible Reading Study.  Message us using the Contact Us link with your name and email address.  You must receive an “invite” in order to enter the online room.

Thank You for Adapting With Us:

We continue to carefully consider all information and recommendations released by the CDC, the Louisiana Governor’s Office as well as Department of Heath, and the Office of the President of the U.S.A. regarding CoVid-19 (SARS-CoV-2) aka the coronavirus.  We are still making these decisions on a day to day basis.  Plans can change, so we ask that you make yourself aware of updates we post here and on social media.  Your health is important to us!

Proverbs 12:15 states, “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes; but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.”

Pray With Us:

We ask that you continue to pray for healing for all affected by this virus. Pray for the development of effective treatments. Pray for society as a whole to use common sense and common decency. Pray for our leaders at all levels of government to have clarity of mind, to make reasonable decisions, and to have pure motives as they make decisions.  Pray for missionaries around the world as they are in uncharted territory just as we are here. Pray for missionaries on deputation as they experience cancellations. Pray for all missionaries as they have a great potential to lose a lot of necessary support at this time.  Most importantly, pray that God’s will be accomplished in our lives as we trust him through this storm.

Welcome to Oak Grove Baptist Church!

We are glad that you decided to visit us here.  A little about us… Oak Grove Baptist Church began as a diverse group of people gathering on Sundays under a shady grove of oak trees to hear the gospel and worship the Lord.  On July 27, 1924, sixteen charter members brought their letters and organized the church.  Today, we are still growing in grace and reaching out to the community.

We invite you to join us for services.

Sunday School – 9:00 A.M.

Sunday Morning Worship Services – 10:00 A.M.

Sunday Evening Services – 6:00 P.M.

Sunday Evening Youth programs – 5:30 P.M.

Wednesday Evening Services: 6:30 P.M.

 A message from our pastor…

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Thank you for taking time to visit our website.  We at Oak Grove Baptist Church strive to be a place where you and your family feel loved, wanted, safe, and most of all, the presence and power of the living God.  It is our prayer that everyone who attends our church will be transformed by the Gospel of Christ; and will use his or her life to bring Him glory.  If you’re ever in our area, please drop in for a visit. His for the harvest, Pastor Derek Dantin
